The purpose of most websites is to attract a decent traffic which will help in getting a good ranking with the search engines. Increasing your rankings with the search engines that matter is done through the optimization process which is big business today. There are many proven and simple techniques which you can do all alone to get your site optimized.

Let me start with a few things that I always do in order to rectify anything that may not be too good from a search engine’s point of view.·         The words on your title bar should contain besides your company name, the key words that are important for your content or services offered.       All your in-bound links should adhere to the same pattern with the keywords relevant to the particular page appearing on the title bar.·

The number of keywords should be less than six.  Your content should be of high quality and contain the keywords in the right density.   HTML format is best suited than graphic format.   Ensure that Meta tags are included.  Link your site to other high ranking websites. Some of the words that I have used here may sound technical to beginners but that is not the case.

Title bar is the blue thick line on top of your browser. It is very easy to discover whether your site has come with Meta tags. Click the “view” button on the browser menu bar and click on “source.” A new window will open that contain the Meta tags if there are any. Rankings of prospective link partners can be found out using appropriate tools.

Most search engines have an option included in their tool bar. You may also check on your own popularity by keying in “free link popularity check” and following directions. This helps you in concentrating on sites linked to you that have high rankings.

AFFILIATE PROGRAMS – SHOULD YOU PUT OTHER PEOPLE’S PRODUCTS ON YOUR SITE?

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Incorporating an affiliate program into your website is a way to make some easy money. If you own a website with reasonable traffic, you can join a reputed affiliate program and start earning money. You don’t have to sell anything or do any sort of sales talk; just being there is enough. The way affiliate selling works is very simple. You add their links to your site and whatever sales are clinched through re-directions from your page brings you a commission.

You can keep your site for whatever purpose it was intended for and this affiliate selling will go on silently. It is not going to affect your normal purpose in any way. Then, how can an affiliate link be formed? Does it require any upfront payments? It is a very simple method, as easy as signing up for an email ID.

But first you have to identify a suitable program and good products. This is the affiliate program I use to identify the affiliate programs I want to promote. You will find an array of products from all imaginable categories on such affiliate sites.

Choose one or two products and start selling. It will be to your advantage if the chosen products have something in common with the content of your site. Most affiliate marketing sites give you a separate link for different products which you can display on your pages. This helps the sites to track the origin of their clients.

If the customer makes a purchase, then you get the commission that was agreed upon while you chose the particular product. The commission is credited to your account with them and then transferred to your own bank or paypal at a later stage every month.

Therefore, affiliate marketing through an existing site without having to do additional sweating is a wonderful opportunity to make optimum use of your website. If you select the right program and products, the results will not take long to come in.  To join onewaylinkexchange.net affiliate program you can click here.

I wish you the best success in your business.

Best Regards,

Anil

Build Your Site’s Reputation With A Site Review

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

The reputation of your website is important and a negative or unknown reputation could actually be hurting your site’s sales and traffic. There are many ways to establish a positive reputation for your website, but by far the most cost and results effective method is having your site reviewed.  One of the most valuable tools you can use to promote your site is building or establishing your site’s reputation.

There are many professional companies that specialize in the verification and review of a websites products and services for a fee, but for the most part if you are on a tight budget then this may not work for you. However, there are still other ways to get your site reviewed with the same results. If you are part of a service organization or association then you can ask them to review your site. Another option is joining your local chamber of commerce and placing a link on your site to the chamber’s website. Many chamber of commerce organizations offer icons that link to your profile at the chamber.

You may also consider contacting your local Better Business Bureau. The main purpose if the BBB is to help legitimize businesses and their websites to potential site visitors and customers. The BBBs also have attractive website logos and icons that you can place on your website as conformation that your website is legitimate and has a positive reputation.

If your website or company has been around for a while then you may want to search the Internet for consumer review websites that may have postings about your site’s products and services. Asking your existing or past customers to write a review of your site’s products and services is also a powerful way to build customer confidence and your site’s reputation. But keep in mind, you want to have your site’s customers and visitors relate how your site’s products and services were of value to them and that they have confidence and trust in your site.

There are many other ways to help build your site’s reputation, and what ever method you choose, you should make sure that you display this information on your home page and on pages such as shopping carts of product and services information pages. Another great place to display this information is on your “About” or company pages. Once you have established your site’s reputation it is a good idea to periodically update it so it never appears outdated or incomplete.
